ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (PARACHUTE RIGGER)

Description:

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies through the STRL Mission Support direct hire authority. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Interested applicants must follow the directions in the "How to Apply" section of this flyer to be considered. There may or may not be actual vacancies filled from this flyer. Notice of Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer.

Requirements:

DT-04:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-03 (GS 9-10 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:1) Performing inspections, repairs, and repacks of emergency egress/life support equipment; 2) Performing quality assurance inspections and repair of fleet parachutes and life rafts; 3) Assisting in mishap and engineering investigations that result from Product Quality Deficiency Reports (PQDR) and performing reviews of engineering drawings and technical manuals; 4) Performing fabrication of textile items for test and evaluation of parachute systems and accessories with little or no oversight; 5) Fabricating textile closing loops, bridles, Mylar bags, and hermetically sealing parachute systems; and 6) Performing basic sewing machine maintenance and repair.

DT-03:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the DT-02 (GS 5-8 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following: 1) Assisting with inspections, repairs, and repacks of emergency egress/life support equipment; 2) Assisting with quality assurance inspections and repair of fleet parachutes and life rafts; 3) Providing assitance with fabrication of textile items for test and evaluation of parachute systems and accessories; 4) Fabricating textile closing loops, bridles, Mylar bags, and hermetically sealing parachute systems; and 5) Performing basic sewing machine maintenance and repair.
