Description:
You will serve as a Construction Engineer/Architect in the Design and Construction Division of NAVFAC SOUTHWEST.This is an INTERDISCIPLINARY position and will be filled as a General Engineer (0801) or as an Architect (0808).
Requirements:
This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The Selective Placement Factor is: You must be a currently licensed/registered Professional Engineer (PE) if applying to the General Engineer (0801) and/or Architect (0808). Your license or registration must be held in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Do you meet this requirement? **NOTE: A copy of your current License(PE)/Registration(RA) showing the expiration date MUST be submitted with your application in order to be considered for this position. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement.**Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Applying principles, concepts, and theories of advanced engineering/architectural methods and techniques (e.g., civil, mechanical, electrical, architecture) to serve as lead/project manager in the full range of construction projects;
2) Serving as lead engineer/ architect in the full range of construction projects that involve various types of construction contracts, project delivery methods, and regulations governing contract administration; and
3) Providing expert construction engineering and management advisory services to activities and tenants served by an Organization.
