This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A MASON WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION INCLUDING: 1) Lay a variety of brick, block, and stone (e.g. firebrick, structural tile, concrete blocks, glass blocks, terra cotta and artificial and natural stone) to repair items such as partitions, walls, walkways, manholes, boilers, catch basins, chimneys, and fireplaces; 2) Work from oral instructions, blueprints, work orders, and rough sketches to complete assigned tasks; and 3) Use a variety of hand and power tools such as trowels, mixers, chisels, hammers, crowbars, brick or skill saws, axes, and picks to remove or prepare walls for repair and cut and shape brick and stone.
