SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must have the ability to multi task and prioritize work. Must possess a working knowledge of carpentry, electrical, painting, cement, plumbing and welding trades. Must have skill in the use of a variety of hand tools. Must have knowledge in basic mathematics. May operate a motor vehicle more than 14,400 lbs to transport equipment, etc.
RESPONSIBILITY: Works under general supervisor. The majority of the work is performed independently where the incumbent makes decisions based on personal knowledge. May participate in new employee orientation and provide safety briefs to Billeting staff. Informs the supervisor in the progress of work assignments.
PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires prolonged standing; stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Lift and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
WORKING CONDITION: Work is performed both inside and outside. Exposed to dirt, paint vapors and fumes. Must wear issued protective gear.
