This position is located in US Department of Homeland Security, US Coast Guard, Personnel Service Center, Personnel Service Center, Child Development Center, Alameda, CA.

Basic Requirements:
1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position.
OR
2. Combination of education and experience--courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
Additional Requirements: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 is required; OR 1 year of graduate-level education; OR superior academic achievement (S.A.A.)
S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership.
3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
3. Election to membership in a qualifying national scholastic honor society
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples include: Working in group childcare or other work that demonstrated the ability to assist in the operation of a childcare center; training childcare employees; assisting with the development and implementation of child development programs; teaching age-appropriate curriculum for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years.
