About the Position:This position is located at Naval Medical Center, Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network Pacific Rim, San Diego, CA Directorate of Clinical Support, Pharmacy. The incumbent works under the general supervision of the chief, pharmacy service and receives technical direction from the chief or the registered pharmacist in charge in the absence of the chief.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) receiving and distributing prescription medication within the full scope of a pharmacy practice; 2) advising new and/or existing staff on proper pharmacy policies and procedures; and 3) packaging and labeling medications according to pharmacy standard operating procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
One full year of graduate-level education in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, or Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field of study, from an accredited college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.) (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
