The ability to perform the full range of tasks including: handling or overseeing one or more product lines, a segment of a large warehouse, or serve as the senior employee in a small warehouse; independently perform a complete range of storage, re- warehousing, and consolidation assignments (e.g. Placing, arranging, rotating, marking and tagging of items on pallets, bins, shelves, bulk and other storage locations for all assigned product lines); use computer terminals and automated material scanner identification equipment to move, issue, receipt, retrieve data; lay out storage space and establish item and material locations providing for maximum space utilization. Provide for the care of supplies in storage (COSIS), applying preservation techniques to protect material from deterioration or damage. Perform material inventories, location audits, and material documentation reviews using manual or automated inventory system; locates material to staging area and obtains required signatures on appropriate paperwork prior to issue/ shipping. Perform material handling duties, including the use of tools and other equipment (e.g. hammers, screwdrivers, electric jack lift, pallet jacks), in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations for hazardous materials. Investigate customer's complaints and deficiency reports and provide identification of causes to appropriate authority. Operate one or more electric, propane gas, utility vehicle, electromechanical automated equipment or diesel powered fork lift trucks which are capable of lifting loads of less than 15,000 pounds to facilitate loading and unloading and movement of materials; determining proper handling and storage procedures. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
