Description:
The purpose of this position is to plan and carry out a comprehensive aquatics program to include all aquatics activities to meet the needs of eligible patrons. The incumbent is primarily responsible for providing administrative, technical, and operational support and expertise on all matters pertaining to the Aquatics programs at NAS Lemoore.Requirements:
- Knowledge that enables the employee to competently and independently carry out aquatic's programs through the proper application of principles, concepts, and techniques of recreation to specific needs of the community to be served.
- Must possess current nationally recognized aquatics (Water Safety Instructor-WSI, Lifeguard Instructor, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Emergency Response through the American Red Cross or equivalent) certifications. A Certified Pool Operator certification is preferred or required within the first 90 days of employment.
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of activities, interest and needs of the military community to plan and conduct programs which will attract maximum number of participants.
- Knowledge of various specialty equipment, both resale and fixed assets to ensure quality material exists to enhance programs.
- Knowledge of the roles of the lifeguards during a coordinated rescue scene for the safety of the rescuers and the victim.
- Knowledge of and ability to conduct pool chemical testing, adjust chemical imbalances, and document the results.
- Skill in planning and executing a comprehensive aquatics program that includes a variety of aquatics activities and/or individual, which meets the needs of the participating community.
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) and other operating systems used in the program area.
- Ability to develop and effectively deliver presentations and/or training.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing and follow verbal and writing instructions.
- Ability to analyze and prepare clear, concise and technically sound reports related to work within the Branch.
- Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing available community resources.
- Ability to perform the full range of supervisory duties.
