Description:

This position collaborates with local Public Housing Authority (PHA), community partners, and VA Medical Centers (VAMC), to oversee a new or existing HUD-VASH project-based development serving aging or disabled Veterans who can benefit from an enhanced model of care. This position will be a subject matter expert in aging and disabled Veteran care, and maintain and create new referral pathways to assist aging and disabled Veterans with independent living.

Requirements:

Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS :
  • United States Citizenship. Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Licensure. Must hold a full, current, unrestricted licensure as a Social Worker in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Education. Posses a Master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
GRADE DETERMINATIONS : In addition to meeting the above basic requirements, applicants must possess the below grade requirements to be found qualified for this position.
  • Education. One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.

  • Licensure/Certification . Individuals assigned as social worker program coordinator must be licensed or certified at the advanced practice level, and must be able to provide supervision for licensure.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs). In addition to the above grade requirements, applicants must clearly demonstrate the following KSAs:
    1. Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
    2. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
    3. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
    4. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
    5. Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.
