This position is located at the unaccompanied housing operation at Naval Base San Diego. The purpose of this position is to execute maintenance-related tasks requiring the use of skills associated with a variety of trades.Requirements:

- Two years of experience that demonstrates knowledge in the applicable combination of trades sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, equipment, commonly used chemicals and basic safety is required.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with management, staff and guests.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, walking, pushing, pulling and climbing. Must have ability to perform moderately strenuous physical labor as unassisted lifting, moving and carrying of supplies and equipment weighting up to 100 pounds is required. May be required to climb/descend ladders or stepladders.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work involves normal risks or discomforts associated with an office environment that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Occasional exposure to dusty or dirty conditions exists when visiting rooms or facilities undergoing repair, maintenance, or renovation. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is subject to the possibility of workdays on weekends and holidays, as well as, rotating shifts, often consisting of other than normal duty hours. The staff member may be recalled to duty and/or required to work overtime, including on an emergency basis.
- In order to verify fitness for duty, a complete physical examination at a military medical facility may be required.
- Must possess a valid state driver's license, as travel to other facilities may be required within the normal scope of duties.
