Description:

You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST EXAMINER in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION AND NDT DIVISION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT:
  • Ability to perform inspection and maintenance of structural welds, pressure vessel welds, seal welds, shielding and special purpose lead, castings, forgings, and related products.
  • Ability to visually inspects weld surface condition prior to radiography to determine proper contour, blending, and smoothness.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings that includes basic mathematics to complete assigned inspections.
