You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST EXAMINER in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION AND NDT DIVISION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO INSPECT:
- Ability to perform inspection and maintenance of structural welds, pressure vessel welds, seal welds, shielding and special purpose lead, castings, forgings, and related products.
- Ability to visually inspects weld surface condition prior to radiography to determine proper contour, blending, and smoothness.
- Reading and interpreting drawings that includes basic mathematics to complete assigned inspections.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
