Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the TACTICAL SYS INTEGRATION & INTEROP DIV (535) of NAVWARSYSCEN PACIFIC SAN DIEGO CA.

Requirements:

I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:

1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Under the guidance of the division leadership, develop and execute budgets, drafting, establishing policies and procedures; direct the technical and programmatic allocations of Department facilities; monitor status of critical projects, oversee implementation and execution of Center policies.

2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: With guidance from the Deputy for Operations, the supervisor will perform and document necessary research, resulting in recommendations for employee growth and management. Responsible for making recommendations for the staffing, training, and development of personnel to support the Organizational Improvement Branch, Code 53508.

3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Maintain consistent and frequent dialogue with each employee in the branch, not only facilitating monitoring of individual performance and tasking, but also identifying and assigning training, providing coaching, and acting as an advocate. Shall be an effective communicator and demonstrate a High-Performance Leadership philosophy.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Lead and complete multidimensional, complex tasks with multiple dependencies independently, mentor others regularly ensuring appropriate succession, and lead others to accomplish complex, cross-organizational goals.

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 or pay band NM-03 in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public Providing technical and project management oversight; knowledge of Systems Engineering, C2 systems and major platforms/weapon systems that employ Tactical Data Links and applying engineering concepts to complex systems of systems architectures; knowledge of personnel management processes (i.e. hiring, promotions, awards, etc.) and assessing employees' performance.
