Description:

You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) Systems Department (N6), Fleet Communications Division (N64), Combat Logistics C4 Support Branch (N641), PM1 Support Unit (N6411) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience devising methods and procedures for electronics system troubleshooting, maintenance and repair and researching, developing, and evaluating the effectiveness and technical adequacy of work items and proposals for resolving critical electronic problems.
  • Experience inspecting and/or evaluating shipboard communication systems to assess reliability, operation, readiness, and safety.
  • Experience researching and/or developing technical specifications for electronic systems or component upgrades to meet new regulatory rules and regulations.
  • Experience providing budgetary inputs for general electronic maintenance and repair work and expected projects such as the replacement of existing systems or components and procuring electronic equipment required for overhaul work packages and compliance with applicable regulatory rules and regulations.
  • Experience evaluating data received from sea trials, test programs and/or contract specifications for providing associated detailed analyses; the types of systems encountered may include: sonar, surface search radars, Global Marine Distress Safety System (GMDSS), Global Positioning System (GPS), Automatic Identification System (AIS), Shipboard Security Alert System (SSAS), telemetry and timing systems, computer interface systems, anti-terrorist and force protection systems, and radar tracking interface systems.
