Description:

You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Command Operations Department, Corporate Operations Group of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

(1) Serving as an authoritative source of information and assistance to all levels of upper management to advise on security guidelines and protective measures relative to unique situations, functions, and requirements; (2) Assisting the Security Officer in administering the agency's security program to make security clearance determinations, initiating requests for security clearances, evaluating the sensitivity classification of positions by applying need-to-know principles, and other pertinent security guidelines; (3) Evaluating the effectiveness of existing Physical Security posture to recommend the type of security measures, control requirements, and facilities needed as well as ensuring vulnerability assessments and physical security surveys are conducted to document deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are taken; (4) Managing the Electronic Key Material System (EKMS) custodian who is directly responsible to the Commanding Officer for receipt, storage, transmission, and control of all cryptographic material and information; (5) Developing and managing the Continuity of Operations (COOP) program to enable the agency to continue its mission essential functions without interruption during a national or local emergency which includes preparatory measures, response actions, and restoration activities planned or taken; (6) Preventing the disclosure of logistical, personnel, training, research and development, and other activities to prevent the release to hostile intelligence collection activities information concerning weapons systems, display materials, conference presentations, abstracts, and other materials to be published to the public; and (7) Complying and remaining knowledgeable with Federal, State, and Local Laws/Ordinances and to also develop guidelines relating to program requirements based on threat and vulnerability levels.
