Description:

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Requirements:

A minimum of three (3) years ocean lifeguard experience, and/or 1,000 hours worked at a United States Lifesaving Agency (USLA) accredited lifeguard agency. Related education and practical experience in ocean lifeguard practices and emergency medical practices. Knowledge of sound safety procedures and practices, common hazards and protective measures, including safety devices, as it applies to water safety and emergency medical skills. Knowledge of the beach environment, marine life, and beach and water hazards. Knowledge of teaching techniques and supervision principles and practices to teach, train and supervise staff and general public. Proficient in surf lifesaving techniques and radio communications to undertake a safe and efficient rescue operation. Perform skills required to maintain USLA rescue skills and agency certification.
Must be able to complete an ocean run swim run event (1/4 mile run, 500 meter swim, ¿ mile run). Must be able to complete 500-meter swim in less than 10 minutes in a controlled environment.

Training and Certifications Required:

- Must be qualified to operate Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) from an accredited agency to rescue vehicles, PWC vessels and rescue boats Attain within one year of employment.
- Maintains a current CPR for the Professional Rescuer Instructor and Emergency Response Instructor certification provided by a nationally recognized agency. Attain EMR Instructor within one year of employment.

- Maintains Emergency Medical Technician certification prior to hire (nationally or state registered within the state applying in) when deemed essential by the installation.
- Maintains SCUBA Rescue certification from a nationally recognized agency (based on the need of the installation). Attain within one year of employment.
- Ability to complete Incident Command Systems training 100 and 200. Attain within one year of employment.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
