The Fleet and Family Support Centers (FFSC) Coronado is looking for the best and brightest to join our team as a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocate (VA). The SAPR VA works under the program oversight of an installation Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) for sexual assault cases and is supervised by the Installation Lead SARC.Requirements:
- Completion of a four-year degree in behavioral health, social science, or criminal justice and two years of experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral health or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above
- Experience with the Navy SAPR program preferred
- Must have the ability and skill to provide effective trainings and briefings
- The ability to maintain accurate statistics for program data collection and reports
- Must have the ability to understand, be sensitive to, and have empathy for victims; must have the ability to develop trusting helping relationships and to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Must have the ability to intervene in crisis situations, using sound professional judgment, ethical practice and common sense
- Must be able to work cooperatively with military and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement and legal personnel on behalf of victims
- Must be skilled in written and verbal communication; and have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and use of office software applications and equipment
- Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing in English
- Must demonstrate the ability to provide effective trainings and briefings
- Ability to develop trusting helping relationships and work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and of virtual training and meeting platforms.
