You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL) in the SEAWATER SYSTEMS BRANCH, MARINE/MECHANICAL DIVISION, ENGINEERING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.Requirements:
FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:- Experience developing plans associated with the functional design, performance, and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting various submarine systems.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, or other technical materials in the performance of naval architectural work.
- Experience negotiating and justifying projects to managers on conflicting priorities such as meeting technical requirements, standards and funding, scheduling or operational constraints to meet goals and objectives.
- Experience implementing plans associated with functional design, performance and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
FOR THE GS-11 LEVEL: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Experience assisting in the development of plans associated with the functional design, performance, and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
- Experience testing and troubleshooting various submarine systems.
- Experience understanding engineering drawings, technical manuals, or other technical materials in the performance of naval architectural work.
