You will serve as a Training Instructor in the Mariner Skills Training Center Pacific (MSTCPAC) of SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL.The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Although we are moving forward with the consideration of candidates, we will not make a selection for this vacancy announcement unless and until the position is no longer subject to the hiring freeze.
Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ( GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Instructing students/personnel in ship navigation, seamanship and ship handling principles and procedures; 2) Utilizing bridge simulators or similar ship handling simulators as instruction techniques and competency assessment methods to advance seamanship skills; and 3) Developing curriculum/training material and recommending improvements to navigation, seamanship and ship handling training classes, and; 4) Evaluating performance of students/personnel to determine effectiveness of instruction and training material NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management web site: https://www.opm.gov/policy-data-oversight/classification-qualifications/general-schedule-qualification-standards/#url=List-by-Occupational-Series
