Description:
You will serve as the Department Chief Engineer (CHENG) in the Modernization and Installation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional Engineer identifying and analyzing problems; weighing relevance and accuracy of information; seeking/generating and evaluating alternative perspectives/solutions; and making timely and effective recommendations based on implications of findings or conclusions. Application of systems engineering design and development methodologies, paradigms, tools, and metrics over the lifecycle to optimize value. Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools used for risk assessment and mitigation, including assessment of failures and their consequences.Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:
