Description:
This position is located in the Community Recreation and Liberty Programs of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Southwest Region. The primary purpose of this position is to provide a comprehensive program of social, cultural, athletic and recreational activities that promote a happy, healthy lifestyle and meet the identified needs and interests of sailors. Incumbent is assigned to the Community Recreation/Liberty Center located at Naval Base San Diego.Requirements:
- A minimum of one-year specialized experience in organizing, planning, administering and conducting a variety of recreation programs/activities
- One-year supervisory experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of recreation policies, principles concepts and methodology of recreation.
- Knowledge and skills required to plan, implement and carry out all activities of a young adult activity program.
- Ability to plan, assign, train and supervise the work of subordinates.
- Knowledge of inventory procedures and controls. Ability to market programs.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and accounting systems and processes.
- Ability to make independent judgment and sound decisions.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
