Description:

This position is responsible for reviewing incoming appeals to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and determining whether applicants have provided sufficient information to constitute a valid appeal. Additionally, will act as a regional expert on statutes relevant to FEMA regulations and policy development, providing authoritative guidance and directing the analysis of complex legal and policy issues related to regional operations.

To qualify for this Supervisory Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position at the IC-14 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-13 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

  1. Providing supervisory oversight of employees to achieve organizational goals; including identifying priorities, evaluating performance, and reviewing outcomes;
  2. Providing senior level staff with recommendations regarding policies and programmatic guidance for Federal Public Assistance Grants programs; and
  3. Collaborating with internal and external partners to resolve solutions on organizational issues.
