Description:
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Management Agency (FEMA), Region 9, Response Division, Regional Watch Center as a Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility. The ideal candidate will be familiar with developing and following standardized policies and procedures involving security, operations, or information. Candidate must be comfortable in a team environment.Requirements:
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:
- Managing facility security requirements in accordance with security mandates, AND
- Applying procedures for document marking, safeguarding, handling, physical storage and destruction methods for sensitive and classified information, AND
- Interpreting policies and regulations that apply to the access and protection of classified information, AND
- Reviewing, analyzing, and resolving security problems based on independent review of established criteria, methods, techniques and procedures, and new policy issuances.
