Description:
The position is located in the Maintenance Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, in the Commander Navy Region Southwest (CNRSW). The incumbent is involved in installing, modifying and repairing new and existing utility, supply and disposal systems such as sewage, water, oil and gas distribution system for facilities and buildings belonging to the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department in CNRSW.Requirements:
Incumbent must be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions.Must have knowledge of standard plumbing methods and techniques, with three years experience.
Have ability to use hand tools such as tapes, hacksaws, pipe threaders, pipe wrenches, hammer, etc.
Capable of using power tools, such as skill saws, table saws, plumb bobs hydrostatic pumps, power drills, etc., in a safe effective way.
Capable of mixing stains, paints, and other coatings according to written or oral directions, ability to recognize the proper appearance and consistency. Ability to apply coatings and paint.
Posses a California driver's license to qualify for government drivers.
Must have the ability to interpret and apply building plans and blueprints, use shop mathematics, and layout such things as angles, arcs, and circles.
