This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision such as :
- Setting up and operate all types of conventional machines and tools in the manufacture, rework, and repair of aircraft components or other items for various Fleet Equipment (F/E), and fleet support work;
- Operating one or more conventional and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machines to perform a specific machining operation in the machining of castings, forgings, or other raw stock made of various metals, metal alloys, and other materials, to complete work assignments;
- Controlling the machine feeds and speeds, change and use different cutting tools for successive operations, and makes minor changes in machine settings to maintain sizes or shape of the workplace; AND
- Performing machine operations on conventional and/or CNC machine tools such as lathes, boring mills, milling machines, grinding machines, shapers, planners, or radial drills after the machine has been set up and checked for proper operation by a higher grade worker.
