PIPEFITTER SUPERVISOR I

Description:

You will serve as a PIPEFITTER SUPERVISOR I in the Shop 56, Production Department at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, San Diego (PNS-SD) Detachment of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE , performing duties such as:

- Execute emergency response procedures including the use and maintenance of small quantity spill kits and the appropriate notifications in the case of larger spills, fires and other emergencies.
- Directs the accomplishment of work operations within the limits of policies and basic work schedules set by management officials
- Make recommendations concerning disciplinary or commendatory actions, demotions, grievance and beneficial suggestions.
- Recommend promotions, performance rating, and action on leave requests.
- Maintains the accumulation area in compliance with Shipyard instructions.
