This temporary promotion may be extended up to a total of 5 years or made permanent without further competition.

NTE 1 year, may be extended up to a regulatory maximum time limits without further competition.

Requirements:

To be qualified, you must type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. (A typing test may later be required.)

GS-10 : To be eligible at the GS-10 level, you must meet as least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level in Federal service. Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level. Specialized experience is defined as serving as an executive secretary to a senior executive (such as a Chief Executive Officer, senior officer of a large law firm, or equivalent) and perform a wide range of high level secretarial and administrative support functions in a legal environment. Examples of specialized experience include managing schedules, calendars, travel arrangements; reviewing outgoing correspondence and developing and modifying office procedures; arranging high level meetings; and dealing with senior executives such as state and federal government; developing background information and writing introductions, speeches and closing remarks.
