Emergency Management Specialist

Description:

This position supports the Regional Field Operations Team Lead, ensures readiness for responding to incidents, and staffs disasters utilizing regional and national resources while ensuring compliance with Force Structure and FEMA Disaster Workforce initiatives when utilized to assist regional disaster operations. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, time management, multi-tasking, problem-solving and communications skills.

To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

1. Disseminating law, regulations, and policies related to emergency management operations;
2. Communicating and providing established guidance to a variety of stakeholders; and.
3. Utilizing data collection to develop materials and present to internal and external stakeholders.

OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OrLL.M.
OR
Combination of education and experience

To qualify for this Emergency Management Specialist position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:

1. Develop and present reports, briefs, and presentations for a variety of stakeholders;
2. Interpreting and make recommendations on organizational data for decision making; and,
3. Apply, interpret, and advise on compliance with the law, regulations, and policies related to emergency management.
