Description:

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PHYSICAL SCIENCE TECHNICIAN in the RADIOLOGICAL MONITORING BRANCH, RADIOLOGICAL CONTROL OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience providing technical guidance in understanding and applying standardized rules, procedures, and operations.
  • Experience applying laboratory principles, methods, and techniques through inspecting, reviewing, and analyzing radiological work assignments and documents.
  • Experience supervising the setup, operation, maintenance, and calibration of a variety of test equipment with known standards.
  • Experiencing gathering, recording, and assembling of pertinent data and report observations and findings applying standards and guidelines to determine which samples must be further tested and referred for further evaluation.
  • Experience overseeing and advising personnel functions regarding performance, training, development, and behavior.
  • Experience developing recommendations to improve methods, procedures, equipment, etc., to prevent recurrence or to improve radiological control operations.
