Description:

You will serve as a Physical Science Technician in the Radiological Control Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Requirements:

GS-10 : Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience protecting shipyard employees through prevention and control of nuclear incidents.
  • Experience monitoring work and testing procedures of high skill level trades in dry run, planning, practice or mock-up sessions.
  • Experience reviewing and appraising special work or projects, adapting portions of training or material to accommodate local needs and analyzing complex problems, deficiencies, and cause of incidents that could not be fully resolved by lower grade technicians.
  • Experience applying radiological principles, requirements, and procedures, trade work techniques and procedures, and the design and layout of Nuclear Propulsion systems to ensure radiological safety requirements are met.
  • Experience evaluating various incidents and assuming full control during radiation-related incidents to prevent and control incidents by determining, directing, and controlling activities of all personnel.
